The Faros Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) is part of the Faros family of last-mile connectivity solutions for internet service providers providing high-speed, point-to-multipoint (PtMP), non-line-of-sight (NLoS), bidirectional data over tens of kilometers. Its uniquely modular, distributed, and endlessly scalable physical and digital design draws on years of market-leading patented Massive MIMO research.
The Faros CPE implements Skylark’s patented true Massive MIMO range-extension technologies and uniquely scalable multi-user beamforming technologies in a compact, affordable software-defined radio architecture. Faros CPE systems can operate on all licensed and unlicensed frequencies between 100 – 6000 MHz using off-the-shelf quick-connect antennas or advanced internal antennas in certain markets and applications. With two radios in each Faros CPE, throughput to the subscriber is doubled by using dual-polarized internal or external antennas. The Faros CPE is designed to connect to one or more Faros base stations, each consisting of a Faros Hub and one or more Faros RRH arrays to form a PtMP NLoS network topology covering thousands of square kilometers.
Faros CPEs are designed for permanent outdoor installation with only a standard Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+) connection required between a CPE mounted outside and the subscriber’s home network inside the building. Installation is typically under-the-eaves or on a short, outdoor pole in particularly challenging environments. The discrete, visually attractive installation is as simple as point and connect. The tough, powder-coated aluminum and plastic sealed clamshell design, on-board multi-service GPS, SIM-card and eSIM support, and built-in lightning protection deliver a carrier grade, low-cost broadband connectivity solution that is designed for robust, touch-free outdoor operation, built to last for years and suitable for various international markets and applications.
